Our Story

WHO ARE WE?

The ministry began in the year 2001, in Buenos Aires, in the Plaza de Mayo, when there was great political unrest. That day the president of Argentina abandoned the country in a helicopter. The country was in chaos, with riots, looting, robbery, throwing stones is what appeared on television screens. It was also a time for women wearing white scarves on their heads, simply standing there, begging for the return of the children and grandchildren. At the same time there was a group of women from our mission, one of them was Rosana Liste (she and her husband are co-directors of a YWAM base in London). God spoke to her about the power of being protagonists as His children in the midst of necessity and at that moment “Women of Faith” was born.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

During the week we visit others and pray for different people. We also go to hospitals, help in merenderos (food kitchens that serve Argentina’s typical afternoon snack and drink called “merienda”), and try to be involved in what others ask of us, in order to be a voice in the midst of our society.

Now we meet the second Monday each month to pray for people in need, for fellowship and encouragement as we study the Word.

Every November we close out the year with a time of fellowship and communion, as women from different cities in Argentina come together and are blessed by hearing the word of God.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO IN THE FUTURE?

We want to wake the Spirit of women, so that they would intercede for their country.

We want the church to go to the streets where the people are, with a prophetic voice, leaving behind all passivity and indifference, and create new strategies to influence our world.
